Chinese-English Ceremony Service block

Yes, a bilingual ceremony is an option.

If your parents or other members of your family and guests are of Chinese-speaking background and do not understand English, they will feel more included if the ceremony is presented in both Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) and English. Let everyone enjoy a truly multicultural wedding experience in Australia! Please contact me for more information.

The Wedding Journey

Stress Free and Enjoyable!

Meet & Greet (Free & Optional)

Our first casual chat is an opportunity for you to meet me and see if I am the right Celebrant for your special occasion. We can arrange a suitable time and location for this meeting, at which point you are welcome to ask any questions you may have; I want you to be comfortable before making your booking.

Booking confirmation

A non-refundable booking fee of 50% of the total fee is required on our second meeting. The Booking Fee holds your wedding date and puts you in my diary!

Collate and Bring Your Documents with You

You will need to bring your birth certificate (a translated copy is required if the certificated in not in English) or an overseas passport (if born outside of Australia); photo identification (e.g. driver’s licence); divorce papers (if you have been previously married); or death certificate (if your previous spouse is deceased). If you have any queries with these items, please contact me and we can discuss them further.

First/Second Meeting & Follow Up

(This can be done in our first meeting) This is where we really start discussing your wedding ceremony! I can suggest a few ideas if required, and together we can work out and design your very own special day. From our discussion I will create a draft of your ceremony which I will then send to you for review; we can then go through things together until it suits you.

Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM)

I usually complete the NOIM form on behalf of my couples during our first initial meeting. Under the current legislation, your NOIM will need to be completed no later than one month (30 days) prior to your wedding day. It is valid for 18 months. This is to formally lodge your intention to get married in Australia.

Wedding Rehearsal

The purpose of a rehearsal ceremony is to ensure that anyone involved in your ceremony knows exactly where and when to stand, as well as what to say and when. At the wedding rehearsal, we will also sign the final legal paperwork (the declaration).

Wedding Day

On the day of your wedding I will arrive onsite 30 minutes before the scheduled start time. Groomed in an outfit appropriate to your ceremony style, I will meet with your guests as we wait for the wedding party to arrive.

Sign, Sealed & Delivered

After the official ceremony, I need you and your chosen witnesses to sign the register. After this is done, I will send the appropriate documents to the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages within 14 days.

Marriage Certificate

In order to retrieve your Registered Marriage Certificate, you will need to obtain it from the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages. This step is very straight forward and fast! I am happy to assist you with the completion of your application for your Official Marriage Certificate.
